Description:

Robotic stretch wrappers are self-propelled, portable stretch wrappers that apply film as it navigates around the load. Robotic stretch wrap machines typically include a safety bumper to prevent crushing the corners of your load.

Best Application:

No minimum load weight.

Space Needed:

Portable, takes up very little floor space. Can easily be moved.

Orbital

orbital

Description:

Orbital stretch wrappers contain a film dispenser that wraps the load as it circles above and underneath the pallet.

Best Application:

Long, odd-shaped loads that can’t be wrapped using traditional stretch wrap machines such as: lumbar, windows, doors, and metal.

Space Needed:

30 sq ft

Types of Orbital Stretch Wrappers

orbital

Semi-Automatic

  • Semi-automatic orbital wrappers are loaded via forklift.
  • Typically includes foot pedal or latching push button to run wrapping ring.

Rotary Arm

Rotary Arm
Description:

Unlike a turntable machine that rotates the pallet, a rotary arm stretch wrapper revolves around a still pallet while the stretch film is being applied. A rotary arm stretch wrap machine allows you to drive up to the machine and lay the pallet on the ground, eliminating the need to load the machine using a pallet jack. Rotary arm stretch wrappers can either be semi-automatic or automatic. Rotary arm stretch wrappers are ideal when you have a lot of open floor space.

Best Application:

Since the load remains stationary, they are ideal for wrapping tall, very heavy, or unstable loads.

Space Required:

(Approx.) Length: 12ft | Width: 9ft | Height: 10ft

Types of Rotary Arm Stretch Wrappers

Rotary Arm

Automatic

  • Requires no operator intervention.
  • Automatic rotary arm stretch wrappers have a mechanical film clamp and film wipe.
  • Floor loaded machines can wrap up to 40 loads per hour.
Rotary Arm

Semi-Automatic

  • There is no film clamp and film wipe.
  • At the end of the wrap cycle, an operator is required to manually cut the film and wipe the film tail against the load.
  • Wraps up to 25 loads per hour as it takes a bit more time to load and unload a semi-automatic machine.
Rotary Arm

Conveyorized

  • Used in conjunction with the rest of the packaging line to automatically cycle loads through the line for increased output and efficiency.
  • Most if not all conveyorized machines are fully- automatic and can wrap up to 100 loads per hour.

Turntable Stretch Wrappers

turntable
Description:

This is the most commonly used stretch wrapper. Turntable stretch wrappers use a platform to rotate the pallet while the film is being dispensed at the carriage. The carriage typically moves up and down encompassing the entire load. There are four different types of turntable stretch wrappers.

Best Application:

Square, stable loads.

Spaced Needed:

(Approx.) Length: 7-12ft | Width: 8-10ft | Height: 8-11ft*

* Varies depending on the wrapper

Types of Turntable Stretch Wrappers

turntable

Low Profile

  • A low profile machine is best fit for pallet jacks applications.
  • The platform usually stands no more than couple inches from the ground.
  • A ramp may be added as an additional customized option.
HP-SRT-2100

High Profile

  • A high profile stretch wrapper is best fit for forklift applications.
  • Unlike a low profile, the turntable has an elevated design and provides easier loading and positioning due to its height.
  • Can be easier to maintain and repair.

Semi-Automatic

  • Semi-Automatic stretch wrap machines require an operator to load the machine, attach the film to the load, start the machine, cut the film, and secure the film tail to the load.
  • Semi-automatic stretch wrappers are ideal for manufacturing industries that wrap up to 20 loads per day, otherwise you should use a full-automatic.
  • Semi-automatic stretch wrappers are designed for use with a forklift or a pallet jack.
Turntable Stretch Wrapper

Automatic

  • Automatic stretch wrappers don’t require an operator.
  • High speed automatic stretch wrappers usually incorporate conveyors to increase productivity.
  • These stretch wrappers can keep up with the most demanding production rates (120 loads per hour with a conveyor).
  • Automatic stretch wrappers apply and cut the film, so the only thing you need to do is change the film roll.
